In support of Think Pink Bahrain’s 2013 campaign, Ralph Lauren collaborated with the charity to direct the sales of Pink Pony Products sold through the month of October. This internatioanl event is a CR of Ralph Laurens’ and funds raised are directed to local braest cancer charities.
Ashraf BGDC held an in-store event at Ralph Lauren store in Bahrain City Centre on the 23rd of October with the presence of Sh. Hind bin Salman Al Khalifa, President of Children & Mother Welfare Society and Chairperson of the Al Amal Institute of Special Education in collaboration with Think Pink Bahrain: Bahrain Breast Cancer Society.
“Pink Pony is Ralph Lauren’s worldwide initiative in the fight against breast cancer. We at the Think Pink Bahrain believe that breast cancer is not race, religion or class orientated. It is only with research, education, early intervention and public awareness that we can fight this disease. It is with this mission that a month long awareness drive was initiated by Ralph Lauren Bahrain and the sale of Pink Pony products will be directed towards supported such disparities in education and equipment that Think Pink Bahrain has championed for the last nine years” said Julie Sprakle, founder of Think Pink Bahrain. “This is the first time Ralph Lauren has collaborated with our breast cancer society and the first in Bahrain, for which we are truly thankful” Julie added.
Ashraf BGDC Fashion Division manager Mr. Ali Al Awainati formally handed over Think Pink representative Faye Khalifa BD 1,025 as Ralph Lauren corporate social responsibility contribution towards the cause from the sale of the pink pony products and the money raised during the launch event which counted for fifteen percent. Starting from October 15 and for one month, twenty-five percent of the sales from Pink Pony products have been directed to raise funds for breast cancer awareness and education programmes in the Kingdom.
