Speaking on the relevance of this event both Mrs. Tahera Al Alawi (Vice Chairperson) and Mrs. Julie Sprakel (Chairperson) commented, “we believe the decision to host this event with such high caliber speakers and a key note address on current best practice on screening for breast cancer will add value to the guideline development process and ensure its relevance to the Breast Cancer services in Bahrain. We are delighted to have successfully engaged with Dr R. Sankaranarayanan- Special Advisor in Cancer Control & head of Screening Group- WHO- IARC, to be the keynote speaker. Working closely with the Supreme Council of Health and the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) on this project we believe, as they do, that collaborating on projects such as these adds value to the community. Funding of this forum and the subsequent guideline development is a gift from the community to the Kingdom which has been made possible via the Charities Research Fund.”
