Bare Chocolates in association with Gypsea Watersports organised the ‘Pink Paddle’ fundraiser on Palm Beach in Amwaj Marina on November 4th, 2016. The full-day event went on from 10 am until 5 pm and 100 percent of the event’s proceeds were donated towards ‘Think Pink’ breast cancer charity, a total amount of BD 1190.
Commenting on the event, owner and founder of Gypsea Watersports, Mohanna Al Doseri said, “I started Gypsea watersports to promote health and wellness in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as watersports can be both excellent for you physically, as well as a mental stress reliever. In the same spirit, we are interested in supporting a holistic health approach throughout the island. Think Pink is a great opportunity to do that as one of the pioneers who started a structured charity in Bahrain that has indeed done a lot.”
The event proved to be a great success as it involved fun-filled activities for the entire family, including many beach games, music, and delicious food. All attendees wore pink to the event.
An exciting market with different stalls selling clothes, beach products, and other goods mostly manufactured locally was also on display. There were several competitions throughout the day, and a Bare Chocolate cooking stand where participants could take part in chocolate-themed activities.
May Mahmoud, owner, Bare Chocolates closed the event with a speech, thanking the event’s supporters, Amwaj Islands, Amwaj Marina, Think Pink, and media sponsor DesignGrafix for their help towards this worthy cause. “As a woman and a Bahraini, nothing can be closer to our hearts than the wellbeing of our women in the long run. Early detection truly does save lives, and we hope with small initiatives like this, we can all participate with building blocks to a healthy future,” she commented.
